At the crossroads of several influences, Taxi Kebab is the collision between synthesizers, machines, modulated
buzuq.
Through poetry, Leïla Jiqqir (Leïla Koumiya) interferes with the arpeggios led by Romain Henry (machines).
Mainly electronic, their influences are haunted by the specter of North African roots. A rough, psyche sound, disoriented and “disoriental”.
The band ended in 2023.

Truly mesmeric collection of music. Mahogany takes the listener to another level entirely and is quite wonderful. Thank you Jasdeep for this album which will be treasured! Having listened to the sitar concerto at Huddersfield in early 2020, I was looking forward to a recording. Veer (track2) feels very reminiscent of the concerto. Sanjanava and Enigma 7.5 are also superb. Can’t wait to see Jasdeep live again.
